Gesunda is lift serviced. I have never been there, so I don't know the trails, but here is the trail map:

It looks like it is mostly steep stuff.

Gesunda is FUN! Most of it can be ridden on a burly trailbike, 6 inches should be plenty. A full on DH-bike is overkill on most of the trails, except the black ones. You'll have lots and LOTS of fun there either way. It's not really that steep.

Hi Bull_D

For some really nice scenery and biking i would recommend Rallarvegen, a popular bike-road between Haugastøl and Myrdal.
For more information visit http://www.turistforeningen.no/english/trip.php?tp_id=9063
or
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rallarvegen
This track is about 4 hours of driving by car from Oslo. Trains stop close to the track as well. The track is about 80km long one way and fairly challenging. You can do it all in one day, or camp at some of the cabins along the road and divide the trip into stages.
I really recomend this route!!

As many forum readers already have mentioned, there are plenty of good opportunities in the Oslo-area. There are plenty of great singetrack roads within 20-30 minutes (by bike) from the city centre.

Regards
Stefan

But you should know that Rallarvegen is a gravel road, not singletrack, and from what I understand you are mainly interested in "narrower stuff"?
Anyway, the nature up there is great, but it wouldn`t be my first choice on a journey to Norway....

that does sound beautiful, but yes i would like to stick with primarily singletrack (well put, by the way skull

what would be your first choices?

My first choice would probably be Skeikampen; I love that place!

But the area around Oslo, where I live, also has lots of awesome trails, you could stay here for weeks, and pick a new trail every day.... Plus, you`ll have lots of local guides here ICON_SMILE

Type "Gesundaberget station, Sweden (Gesundaberget)" into the search field, that should get you to the right place. It is 300 km north-west of Stockholm.
