First of all, sorry for English, hope it's ok to use it here.

I have a problem removing the the sealed bottom bracket, the non drive side came out extremely easy but the drive side just won't give in. I know it has to be unscrewed clockwise (reverse thread). The metal there is very soft and the socket often slips.

I know there's a trick to hold the socket in with a 8mm bolt but I can't find one with the proper thread. Checked Clas Ohlson today but no luck. Does anyone know where I can find such bolt? Maybe someone already has it and I could borrow it? Thanks!

Yes, of course, I took the cranks/pedals off, and I'm using exactly the same bottom bracket removal tool. But there's not much grip inside and the tools keeps slipping damaging the splines on the BB. What I need is something to hold the tool in place.

There are some variants in the form of complete wrenches that might make it easier to maintain a good pressure on the tool while you unscrew the crank. Bike on the side, have someone push down on the tool while you pull or something...

use a clamp if you have one

Thanks, this is a great idea with someone standing on the tool while I will try to unscrew it. Will definitely try it once my wife comes home

Hi again
There might also be some corrosion betweenthe BB and the BB shell, which makes it harder to unscrew. You might use some penetrating fluid like WD40 or CRC 556 and let it work overnight.

Good luck

Ended up going to bike shop and even they struggled with it for half an hour but eventually it came out.
Whoever assembled the bike did not put any grease or antiseize on the threads.
