I'm coming to Norway from Finland in mid of July for 10 days and planning the trip and trying to find places where to go. Already checked the trails in mtbmap.no and trailguide.no but those doesn't tell much about the view. So, what places/mountains you would recommend from Kristiansand to Trondheim? Any easy singletracks with beautiful views? I also want to take nice pictures

The mountain trails in Hallingdal has nice views, and if you want to take nice pictures, you should go west and get the view of the fjords.

The Sogndal area is really good, Molden mountain for example. Sunnmøre and Romsdal has some trails in spectacular scenery. Also Kristiansand has tons of trails in less spectacular landscape, but pretty it definitely is.

Gautefall is the aera in Norway with most bare rocks. The woods are open and the scenery nice. There are more than 100 km cycleable tracks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOw8BiXBiV0

Romsdalen has some very nice trails. You could talk to romsdal-adventure.com, they can arrange both guiding and accomodation. Fjørå is a classic area, there are some locals there who may want to show you the trails. Do a search for "Fjørå" on this forum and you may find some contact points to PM.

Any easy singletracks with beautiful views? Kanskje greit for karen at folk får med seg det uthevede adjektivet

Ja, jag tänkte på samma sak. Jag tror inte han är ute efter push biking på vestlandet. I believe this round trip is a nice trip in the mountains mostly above the tree boarder. http://mtbmap.no/#12/62.8269/9.5473I don't know much about the cycling at the coast in the fjord areas but I believe that much of it is very steep and that you usually push your bike upward. http://mtbmap.no/#12/61.8545/9.5064I also believe that there are some good cycling in that area but it is not rated at the moment. http://mtbmap.no/#12/61.3696/10.1011Is also a good area with nice mountain trails.

As Arne_And says, there are lot of great trails with spectacular views in Møre & Romsdal, but they are mostly both steep and technical. Very fun if you like that kind of terrain, very frustrating if not. Some exeptions may be Stemshesten and Raudheia in the Molde area. You still have to do a lot of pushing up the mountain (we are talking mountainbiking here ), but it maight be easier to find the good flow down again. But it's anyway not easy singletrack as I see it. Røros (east fo Trondheim, close to the swedish border) seems like a very nice area with a lot easier terrain, chech out this video: http://youtu.be/8pApRqvrW6o

Ah, good point, I missed the "easy singletrack" point. Romsdalen and Fjørå are not the ideal places in this case.

Høgsvora(1163 meter above sea level) has quite a nice view and its not that difficult to ride. Most of the rail is above the tree line so its open and lots of space. Høgsvora is in the Valldal area on the west coastof Norway. Also in the same area as Fjøra. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9jIdIxJ1DI

Thanks! I will take a closer look of those and mark them to map, some places looks promising! At least Rallarveien and Røros are enough easy to 29 hardtail, or maybe I have to buy again full suspension. Other reason I said easy singletrack is because my wife is coming also with me and if we are going to too technical, rocky or steep trails the trip will end too soon Last summer we were in Tromso and there were a lot of nice places, such as Grønnlibruna, Fløya and Nonsbu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H2ITbxl5xE

But there are no views in Røros. The scenery is flat and there's a lot of historical things to see, but not the spectacular landscape Norway is most well known for. I still believe Rondane should be on your shortlist because there you will always have great mountain views and the tracks are easy enough, just make sure you understand which areas you are allowed to go biking.

Yes, it looks quite flat and first part of video in earlier post was very much similar what we have in Finland. So lets go then to Rondane The plan is now to drive from Stockholm to Oslo and then back to Finland from Trondheim or Trofors. Mostly sleeping in tent but some days also in cabin. We want also to see and drive the Atlanterhavsveien so have to think about Molde area (Stemshesten and Raudheia as btm said).

Rallavegen will be perfect for you. Very spectacular to cycle trough Europes biggest wilderness plateu kept for the wild reindeer. The last third of the trip gives you an instant contact with the western fjordlandscape and culture since you literally dive into the lush green valley from the somewhat grey and unforgiving plateu with snow, ice and its many small lakes, rivers and waterfalls. If you decide to give it a try the season starts about 5 july, but this year it has been remarcably cold so it will be later this year. A bit of pushbike on smaller lips of snow is something you must expect anyway. If there is a lot of snow you can make it into a one dayer by taking the train some stations more to the west to a place called Hallingskeid. At this stop there is a lovly cabin runned by Den Norske Turistforening http://english.turistforeningen.no/cabin.php?fo_id=6469&ca_id=147You can stay there for a reasonably price and by taking the train that arrives in the afternoon you can make it a nice afternoon/evening there if you bring some fresh meat or fish and a bottle of wine since there is plenty of dry and canned food there to buy so you can surprise your wife with a hefty dinner for two the day before you cycle to Flåm. If you go the normal route you will start at Haugastøl and even if the trip is manageable in one day I strongly recommend a stay at Hallingskeid and make into a twodayer. It also works better due to the schedules the train back to the car at Haugastøl goes. PS: This is no trip to make in bad weather, often if its raining where you start it will snow higher up on the plateu. The "road" starts out as a normal gravelroad but will have some parts of washed out areas and is a nice trip but dont expect any singletraicykling, and do not forget some warm clothes in case of a sudden weatherchange.

We want also to see and drive the Atlanterhavsveien so have to think about Molde area (Stemshesten and Raudheia as btm said). The area between Høvringen and Mysusæter is the place to go in Rondane. Both Høvringen and Mysusæter makes for a nice base, if you want to use the tent and not be to far from the car you could try parking at Spranget, and put up a base camp near the river. Be aware that you are not allowed to go into the national park itself, except for the area between Høvringen and Mysusæter. The tracks inside the national park would anyway mostly be to difficult. Most of the singletrack between Høvringen and Mysusæter should be OK, when you come closer to Mysusæter you descend into the forest and it becomes more difficult. You can also check out the small moutain Formokampen. If you search the forum you will find a lot of information in Norwegian. If you have more time you could also check out the tracks for the "Furusjøen rundt" race. I think it makes sense to go to Rondane after Oslo, then to Atlanterhavsveien. It's not too much of a detour.
