Veteran Miyata

Har en Miyata fra ca. midt på 80-tallet. Den har stått i garasjen hos hu mor siden ca 1988. Noe som kan være interessant?

Har desverre ikke bilder.

Hvor stor er den da?

Og hvilken farve er den da?

Neste gang jeg er der må jeg huske å ta bilder. Kanskje ta den med hjem og fikse litt på den.

what are your plans with this bike? If you want to bring it to live I can make full saddle restoration for free for you if you like.

Of course I can do full restoration if you want but not for free then

Bike doesn't fit me. I hope someone will like to take it off my hands. Getting a something for trade would be awesome.

So thanks to Joachim, the bike is in my hand now. I really love the transformation I can make with bike, which most of his 30 years stand unused in the old barn or so...

And I'm not loosing time. All is already disassembled, missing or used parts ordered. It requires new tabular tires (they are so expensive by the way), new black leather for saddle and handlebars....

The paint job will remain as it is. It will be only polished and some scratches need a human touch

Wheels are disassembled as well and aluminium rims will shine again. Every spoke and hubs will be polished as well...








Thank you Joachim for chance to bring this bike to previous splendor...

Hope this story continues, with pictures, soon. Good to see these old bikes' comeback.

I'm back. Sorry for long time without any news. I have to admit this is slow process. But finally leather for saddle and handlebar arrived and I manage to restore a saddle.

Now is made from natural leather and i had to draw by my own Dolphin logo as there was no one in vector format in the net, and here are result.

Notice that on the other side Dolphin logo is a little different so I have to make two

So I have surprise. After black leatherwork with blue tread, I was not satisfied with the tone of blue color that did not match the frame color. So I've made drastic decision....color change of whole bike and new leatherwork. I know, I've promise to leave the blue color ....but I couldn't resist to try my new painting tools. So I decide to use Mercedes Benz Color - Citrine Brown Metallic and upgrades the saddle to give more posh look...

Must say I was a little skeptical to replacing that nice blue/yellow finish, but seems like the brown very well makes up for that !

The leatherworks is hand made. Believe or not but all I did by my hand only without any sewing machine.
