Det var vanskelig! : )
Today I did have both bad luck and a lot of fortune. First i was lucky cause the group has let me go from the early climbs so easily that i was disappointed a bit, probably they were not believing in some randomly appeared not-local guy. Then after passing some slippery traverse forest roads on the way to the Rørvika i was so down downcast to see the asphalt and the strong headwind. I knew the group was only 30-40 seconds behind, with this wind direction and very likely at least a couple of roadracers in the peloton it is nothing. I decided not to give up easily and make maximum effort on the asphalt putting the arms on the fork crown, head under the handlebar, and self motivated to be Cancellara minded : ) Here comes the crucial moment of fortune, as the guys told me after there was some misunderstanding in the group, for 3 kilometers alone with headwind i even gained 10 seconds. The rest was not so difficult, a couple of windy fields and expected by me a huge gradient slippery climb. I managed to survive and happy to win. The best season opening i could imagine.
Looking forward to so some real marathons in Norwegian mountains on my new full suspension bike. See you there and follow me on strava
